Salalah, The Research Council (TRC),
represented by the Strategic Program for the Cultural Heritage of
Oman, organized a workshop entitled “Projects of Omani Strategic
Program and Cultural Heritage” in the Governorate of Dhofar in
cooperation with the Municipality of Dhofar.
The workshop included two sessions to discuss the projects of the
program. The first session dealt with the theme of Omani personalities
engaged in trade and industry in the Governorate of Dhofar in terms of
the idea and the foundations. The session was presented by Dr.
Suleiman al-Mahthouri, member of the research team of the project.
The second session dealt with the languages and dialects in the
Sultanate in terms of the idea, the foundations and the linguistic
phenomena in Dhofar, in addition to discussing the project of tales and
legends related to the places. The session was presented by Dr.
Mohammed al-Saqri, member of the research team.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser al-Harrasi,
Chairman of the Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART),
Advisor Abdullah bin Aqeel al-Ibrahim, Acting Deputy Governor of
Dhofar and a number of officials, researchers and those interested in
the Omani cultural heritage.
