Tokyo, Two people were killed after a powerful
typhoon Trami struck Japan, wounding at least 100 others.
One person was killed by a landslide in the western province of
Tottori, while another man was found dead after falling in a hole in the
central Japanese city of Fujiyoshida, Kyodo news agency reported.
About 36,000 people took refuge in temporary evacuation centers
after the typhoon swept into Japan last night, which was accompanied
by strong winds and heavy rains after arriving in the western city of
Tanabe, the agency said.
Typhoon Trami forced airlines today to cancel about 230 flights after
canceling 1,300 flights the previous day.
