Muscat, The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) today sent a circular to posts sector companies operating in the Sultanate pursuant to procedures undertaken by the Sultanate to address the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

TRA urged licensed posts companies to take appropriate preventive measures to ensure the smooth functioning of the sector in best possible manner in view of the current circumstances.

The regulatory authority instructed the firms to stay vigilant and be continuously updated about directives and data issued by the Supreme Covid-19 Committee.

The circular called for full commitment to security and safety criteria, both for employees and beneficiaries of the posts sector, notably employees at service outlets and those responsible for delivery of courier and are in direct contact with beneficiaries.

The posts firms should ensure the continuity of services rendered to end users and facilitate beneficiaries’ access to these service (through, for example, discounts, offers and courier delivery procedures) due to the significance of such services at the present time, said the circular.
