Muscat, Ahmed bin Nasser al-Meherzi, Minister of
Tourism today received Kentaro Sonoura, Special Adviser to the
Japanese Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation. The guest
is on an official several-day visit to the Sultanate during which he
meets with several officials with the objective of promoting aspects of
cooperation between the two friendly countries in many fields.
The two sides reviewed a range of topics of common concern.
They also shared ideas and proposals on aspects of potential
cooperation between the two sides in tourism field and contributing to
promoting for tourism potentials enjoyed by the Sultanate in the
Japanese market through benefiting from the Japanese expertise in
this regard, besides studying the potential of signing a memorandum
of understanding (MoU) in the tourism field between the two countries.
Oman Tourism Strategy was also highlighted during the meeting,
as well as highlighting avenues of tourism investment in the Sultanate.
The meeting also touched on the Japanese tourism experience.
