Thirty-seven Taliban Militants Reported Dead After Humvee Carrier Explodes

Qandahar, Thirty-seven Taliban militants were killed

when a Humvee armored personnel carrier loaded with explosives

exploded prematurely among a group of Taliban in the southern

Afghan province of Qandahar.

Provincial spokesman Aziz Ahmed Azizi confirmed the incident,

saying a group of militants who were targeting an Afghan army

compound with a Humvee loaded with explosives had died after the

improvised explosive device (IED) had exploded prematurely.

Azizi said the explosion killed at least 37 militants and wounded

others.
