Paris, Ghazi bin Said al-Rowas the Sultanate’s Ambassador in Paris told reporters on the sidelines of the Omani-European Press Forum at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris that the meeting between Oman and Europe is an important opportunity to highlight the historical and cultural aspects of the Sultanate, particularly inside the UNESCO, appreciating the efforts of the Oman Journalists Association (OJA) and its initiative to organize the first forum.
He added “We look forward with great interest to the role played by OJA in organizing the meetings and events in the coming stage, not only in France, but also in other organizations and countries to present the bright civilization, history and present of Oman at various tourism, economy and culture levels.”
He added that the forum opens the opportunity for the 50 Omani journalists participating in the Forum to see a lot of historical and tourist attractions, as well as visit some of the French media institutions.
He noted the interest of the Sultanate’s Embassy in Paris to support such meetings, pointing out that the Omani-French relations are more than 280years old, and these relations developed further after the visit of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said in 1989.
