The Sultanate, EU Meeting

Brussels, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, Secretary

General of the Foreign Ministry, met today in Brussels with Helga Schmid Secretary

General of European External Action Service (EEAS).

The two sides discussed a number of vital areas of cooperation in order to support the

policy of economic diversification and the future vision of the Sultanate of Oman 2040.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of current developments on the

regional and international arenas. They agreed to continue regular consultations and

coordinate positions in support of ways of dialogue and understanding, which will contribute

to peaceful resolution of issues and enhance the rules of security, peace and stability.

The meeting was attended by Nijim bin Sulaiman al-Abri, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to

Belgium, the Head of its mission to the European Union, Ambassador Abdel Aziz bin Mousa

al-Kharousi from the Office of the Secretary-General, and a number of European Union
