Baghdad The US Department of Defense / Pentagon / announced: "The drone attack on the Mercer Street tanker was launched from Yemen."

"Yes, I can confirm the reports," said Dana Stroul, deputy assistant secretary of defense for Middle East affairs, when asked if the reports were accurate that the attack came from Yemen.

Speaking at a Senate hearing, she added, "This was a drone attack, and it's backed by Iran."

The Central Command of the US Armed Forces (Centcom) announced a few days ago that the experts’ conclusions confirm that the drone that was used to target the “Mercer Street” tanker in the Gulf of Oman is Iranian-made.
