Muscat, The supervisory committee tasked with the Omani nascent companies programme held its first ever meeting today under the auspices of HH Sayyid Belarab bin Haitham Al Said. The meeting aims to enhance the scheme of innovation-based companies that utilize advanced technology in the Sultanate of Oman.
The programme, which seeks to disseminate the culture of startups in educational institutions and society, comes in line with Oman Vision 2040, which gives priority to economic diversification and fiscal sustainability.
Halima Rashid Al Zar’ee, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the programme seeks to empower innovative ideas, support the establishment of innovation-based startups and link them to business, investment and financing opportunities, thereby offering them better exposure to local and global markets.
