Seoul, The Sultanate, represented by its

Embassy in the Republic of Korea, took part in activities of Seoul

International Friendship Festival 2018, which was organised at the

capital Square.

The Sultanate’s Embassy’s pavilion included a collection of selected

portraits and photographs highlighting the Sultanate’s beautiful nature,

as well as showcasing several traditional models and handicrafts, such

as silver jewelries, fabrics, potteries and Omani costumes. The pavilion

also offered Omani coffee and dates, Omani frankincense, besides

distributing introductory brochures for tourism in the Sultanate.

Mohammed al- Harthy, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Korea, Dean of

the Diplomatic Corps gave a welcoming speech on behalf of the

Diplomatic Missions and the participants during which he expressed his

utmost thanks for the Mayor of Seoul and Seoul Municipal Office for

organising this annual cultural event. He affirmed that such an annual

International Friendship Festival contributes greatly in bringing people

together and promoting understanding and coexistence among people,

as well as extending bridges of friendship, spreading love, harmony

and peace among all.

Seoul International Friendship Festival is an annual event

organised by Seoul Municipality since 1996 with participation of

cultural, artistic institutions and diplomatic missions. The festival

presents pavilions highlighting cultural, heritage, artistic and tourism

aspects, as well as a pavilion for international cuisine, besides various

artistic and folkloric programmes on the main platforms at the center of

Seoul.
