State Council Office Discusses Means of Developing Legislative Practice Mechanisms

The State Council Office today held a meeting with the honorable heads of the permanent committees at the State Council under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh al- Manthri, Chairman of the State Council. The meeting aimed at improving coordination between the State Council’s Office and heads of the Committees and enhancing the role of these committees.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to developing the mechanisms related to the State Council’s practice of its legislative and oversight functions, ensuring integration between the State Council and the government, reflect the needs and priorities of the society in a better way, achieve the aims of the development plans and augment the renaissance pathways witnessed by the Sultanate in all fields.

The meeting reviewed the mechanisms approved for developing proposals by the State Council’s permanent committees , guidelines for submitting proposals to the general session and the mechanisms for hosting government officials. The meeting stressed the importance of submitting reports by the State Council’s delegations and members about their participations at the seminars and conferences outside the Sultanate. They also discussed the media coverage for the State Council’s session and meeting of its committees.

The meeting affirmed the importance of intensifying the works of the permanent committees during the coming period to enhance its reole in continuous development for the State Council’s performance.
