Muscat, Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri,
Chairman of the State Council today received Walid al-Muallem,
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the
Syrian Arab Republic, within the framework of his current visit to the
Sultanate.
The Chairman of the State Council aspired to achieve this visit
the prospective objectives in supporting the bilateral relations between
the Sultanate and the Syrian Arab Republic. Dr. al-Manthri underlined
the keenness of the two brotherly countries in developing relations of
cooperation between them, wishing peace, security and stability to
prevail in all parts of Syria.
The two sides reviewed the current situations at the region, as
well as means of promoting fields of cooperation between the two
countries, particularly in parliamentary fields.
The Syrian Deputy Prime Minister expressed his delight to visit the
Sultanate. He also expressed his admiration over the remarkable
progress in all fields. Further, the hailed the strong relations binding
the two brotherly countries.
The meeting was attended by the two deputy chairmen of the
State Council, honourable members, the Secretary General of Majlis
A’Shura, members of the delegation accompanying the guest and the
Syrian Ambassador to the Sultanate.
