Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, today received Luigi Di Maio, European Union’s (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf Region, and his accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Abdulmalik commended the status of bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and EU countries. He expressed his aspiration to help boost the growth of bilateral relations in various fields and open up new tracks for joint cooperation under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on matters of common interest and explored ways of enhancing cooperation between EU councils and the State Council.

For his part, Luigi Di Maio valued the deep-rooted relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the EU. He wished Oman and its people further development, progress and prosperity.
