Muscat, The State Council today approved the proposal submitted by the

Economic Committee to amend the Economic Development Law issued by the Royal

Decree No.9/75 to establish a broad framework for a new law regulating the planning

process under the name of the Development Planning Law, in addition to forming a

technical drafting committee to include the views of the honorable members of the Council

around it, in preparation for sending it to the Council of Ministers.

The proposal was approved at the 5th regular session of the 4th annual sitting of the 6th

term, which was held under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri, Chairman of the

State Council, in the meeting room of the Council building in Al Bustan.

During the session, the Council completed the discussion of the law on ” Organizing the

Practice of

Medicine and Allied Medical Professions ” referred by the Council of Ministers and the

report of the Social Committee and the report of Majlis A’Shura about it.

The Council has initiated discussion of the law at its fourth meeting yesterday.

The Council reviewed a number of reports submitted by honorable members, messages

received from some parties, as well as the report of the Secretariat on the activities of the

Council, for the period between the two meetings.
