Former President Michel Sleiman praised the role of the international community in standing by Lebanon and supporting its legitimate institutions and helping it overcome its crises, pointing to the "need to fortify Lebanon's international relations, and to avoid being dragged into the policy of destructive axes."

During his meeting with British Ambassador Chris Rampling, Sleiman underlined "the importance of Lebanon's relationship with Britain, which is always keen to support and assist the Lebanese Army, which has resulted in reducing the number of illegal crossings."

He also stressed the importance of its role in the international support group for Lebanon.
