Ibra, A seminar on the biography of Sheikh Jaber
bin Ali Al Maskari was organized in Ibra in the Governorate of North
A’Sharqiyah under the patronage of Habib bin Mohammed al-Riyami,
Secretary General of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and
Science (SQHCCS). The seminar was organized by Ibra Cultural
Center.
The seminar included four working papers, the first entitled
biography of Sheikh Jaber bin Ali Al Maskari. The second working
paper was presented under the theme educational positions in life of
Sheikh Jaber Al Maskari. The third paper dealt with the literal
production of Sheikh Jaber Al Maskari. The fourth paper was entitled
Reading in the documents of the wardrobe of Sheikh Jaber Al Maskari.
The seminar also included a documentary on the biography of
Sheikh Jaber bin Ali Al Maskari, in addition to the opening of the
accompanying exhibition. It included some books, writings and words
of Sheikh Jaber Al Maskari and his social role in social life and
education.
Sheikh Jaber bin Ali bin Hamoud Al Maskari was born in 1338 AH
in the town of Al Yhamdi in the Wilayat of Ibra. He played a social role
among the Omanis between Zanzibar and the Green Island or Pemba.
Sheikh Jaber Al Maskari had been judging in a number of cities of
Oman for about thirty years. He left poetic and prose traces, as well as
manuscripts and documents. He died on 24th Rabi al Thani 1439 AH,
corresponding to 10 January 2018.
