Muscat, Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq al-Said,

Minister of Heritage and Culture received in his office this morning a

delegation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with the World

Cricket Cup of the championship scheduled to be held in London in

June 2019.

The Sultanate’s role in the cricket and the advanced levels of

the national cricket team during its participation in previous regional

and international tournaments were reviewed during the meeting,

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Sa’ad bin Mohammed Al

Mardhouf al-Sa’adi, Minister of Sports Affairs and board members of

Oman Cricket Club.

An official reception was held to the Cricket World Cup, which

arrived in the Sultanate yesterday at the Muscat International Airport

with the ICC delegation. The ICC delegation and the Cup will tour a

number of landmarks in the Governorate of Muscat, including the

National Museum, the Royal Opera House Muscat and the Oman

Cricket Club.

The Sultanate’s hosting of the World Cricket Cup is part of the

tour organised by the Championship’s Organizing Committee in ten

countries participating in the championship.
