Salalah, The Salalah Tourism Festival’s Open
Shooting Championship was concluded at the Royal Oman Police
Shooting Range in in Raysut today under the patronage of Sayyid
Mohammed bin Sultan al-Busaidi, Minister of State, Governor of
Dhofar, in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar al-Marhoon,
Minister of Civil Service, honourable members of the State Council,
members of Majlis A’Shura and a group of fans of shooting.
As more as 964 persons took part in the tournament, which is
held annually as part of the sporting events associating with Salalah
Tourism Festival. The event enjoys wide participation from the clubs in
the Governorate of Dhofar and the wilayats of the Sultanate, in addition
to a large number of citizens and from the GCC countries in various
competitions included in the Shooting Championship.
The championship includes four competitions: the individual
competition, trapshooting, with the participation of 14 teams, senior and
junior competitions. The shooting championship is one of the main
events of the festival, which the Organising Committee of the festival
has devoted most attention to preserving this heritage.
At the end of the championship, the chief guest honoured the
Shooting Committee and handed over awards to top winners of the
various competitions included in the championship.
