Muscat, The State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution (SAI) took part in the third meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Monitoring Committee of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions “ARABOSAI”, which took place through video-conferencing from Tunisia today.
The meeting discussed amending the committee’s bylaw in line with the new version of the Organization’s statute, a proposal to implement a cooperative monitoring mission on the third goal “Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages“ in cooperation with the INTOSAI development initiative, in addition to mandating the committee to set program goals and the main themes of a program that falls within the fourth goal “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” and submitting it to the Institutional Capacity Building Committee.
The meeting reviewed the voluntary national reports and set the sub-priority elements of supporting members and their capabilities in monitoring the implementation of SDGs. The meeting also discussed forming a team under the supervision of the ARABOSAI Secretariat General to translate and adapt the approved evidences in this field by the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI), in addition to updating the committee’s plan for (2020-2022) and the operational plan for 2020.
