Madrid, River Plate won the Copa Libertadores
Cup with a 3-1 victory over Boca Juniors in the final match of the
tournament in Santiago Bernabeu, Spain.
The original time of the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Dario Benedetto
scored for Boca Juniors in the 44th minute and River Plate tied by
Lucas Prato’s goal at 68th minute.
In the second half of the extra time, Juan Fernando Quintero scored
the second goal to River Plate in the 109th minute and Gonzalo
Martinez added the third goal in the last minute.
The first match at Boca Juniors stadium on November 11 ended in a
2-2 draw.
This is the first time that the continental championship has brought
together two teams from Argentina to the final. With this victory, River
Plate qualified for FIFA Club World Cup to be held in the UAE this
month.
