Reports Affirm Bayern, Juventus Talks for de Ligt Transfer

Berlin, Bayern Munich are aiming to sign centre back Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus, with Germany’s Bild paper reporting today that the Germans’ board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic has flown to Italy for talks.

Various news reports have linked Netherlands international de Ligt with a move to the Bundesliga champions. Bild said Salahamidzic has been holding first talks with Juve sports director Federico Cherubini.

Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport said that 22-year-old de Ligt is considering leaving Juve after three years, despite a contract until 2024, and that is agent was expected in Turin on the weekend.

Italian reports said that Bayern have raised their offer to €75 million ($76.6 million) plus add-ons, but that de Ligt has a €120 million release clause and Juve want at least €100 million.

The reports said that England’s Chelsea have offered €80 million.

Germany’s Kicker magazine said that de Ligt is interested in a move to Munich, who have signed two fellow Dutchmen in Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui who like de Ligt played for Ajax in the past.
