Muscat, The Ministry of Regional Municipalities
and Water Resources said in a report on rainfall in a number of the
Sultanate’s states: “Heavy rainfall was reported at a number of the
Sultanate’s governorates yesterday, May 28, which led to the flow of
valleys and the dams held a quantity of water.”
The report added that the rainfall measurement stations of the
Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources recorded the
highest rainfall in the Governorate of Al Buraimi (35 mm) in the Wilayat
of Al Buraimi, Governorate of Dhofar (26 mm) in the Wilayat of Salalah,
Governorate of North A’Sharqiya (19 mm), in Governorate of A’Dhahira
(16 mm) in the Wilayat of Ibri, and in Governorate of North Al Batinah
with (13 mm) in the Wilayat of Sohar.
“Sahlnout dam in the Wilayat of Salalah is still holding a quantity of
water (5 million cubic meters) and the flood protection dam in Salalah
has held 24.45 million cubic meters of water,” said the Ministry of
Regional Municipalities and Water Resources.
