Madrid, With River Plate winning the Copa
Libertadores, Exequiel Palacios could now face Real Madrid in the
Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, UAE before eventually going on to join
them.
The 20-year-old’s fine displays in River’s midfield has captured
the attention of top European clubs and Madrid are on course to sign
him.
Whether he does come in January or in the summer, a
potential game in the final of the Club World Cup would be the perfect
stage for him to show that he has what it takes to succeed at the
Bernabeu.
With the Copa Libertadores final in Madrid, it has given
Palacios an opportunity to see Real’s facilities at Valdebebas and play
at the Bernabeu.
He was quiet in the first half against Boca Juniors, but came out
of his shell after the break following the introduction of Quintero. River
played better and with that Palacios showed what he can do.
Palacios was involved in Pratto’s equaliser and from then on he
did well as River controlled the game, the Spanish MARCA newspaper
reported.
