Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi, met in Bkirki Friday with French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher, over the current situation on the local and regional scenes.
Speaking to reporters following the talks, Foucher hailed the efforts undertaken by the Maronite Patriarch to bring closer the viewpoints with the aim of forming the new government in the nearest time possible.
“To us, the government formation is a very important matter, and we have been awaiting it for nine months now,” he said.
“There is a road map set for Lebanon and we are ready to execute it; but we cannot do so if there is no decisionmakers,” he added.
Rahi later met with British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, with whom he discussed the latest developments and the bilateral relations.
