Quake of Magnitude 6 Strikes Northeast of Australia Norfolk Island

Canberra, A shallow earthquake of magnitude 6

struck northeast of Australia’s Norfolk Island today, the United States

(US) Geological Survey said.

There was no immediate tsunami warning and no reports of

damage or casualties from the quake, which hit at a depth of 10 km (6

miles), about 681 km (423 miles) northeast of Norfolk Island, the

Reuters reported.
