Sohar, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) Company held a dialogue session on local value added entitled “The Way to Localization of Omani Industries and Services” under the patronage of Ahmed bin Hassan al- Theeb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
PDO Board’s recommendations emphasized the importance of retaining more oil and gas wealth within the Sultanate, highlighting the need for appropriate laws and leadership commitment to advance local value added.
Eng. Abdul Ameer bin Abdul Hussein al- Ajmi, PDO’s External Affairs and Value Creation Director said “This is the third of its kind this year and we have the opportunity to discuss ways to enhance the provision of jobs for Omanis, to advance training efforts, to improve the skills of young people, to diversify the national economy and to benefit the economic sectors, and how various economic sectors benefit from different models of success achieved in the oil and gas sector.”
