Muscat, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, stressed the important role played by the Sultanate
under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said at the regional and
international levels to promote security and stability on the one hand and promote dialogue
and understanding among all parties on the other hand.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in an exclusive interview
with Oman News Agency (ONA) praised the Omani-Pakistani relations, describing them as
historical relations, pointing out that the purpose of his visit to the Sultanate is to promote
and develop these relations and push them to wider perspectives.
He explained that during his visit to the Sultanate, the regional and international situations of
mutual interest were discussed with the Omani side and visions were unified to reach a
common understanding of the challenges facing the region, whether in the Gulf, the
situation in Yemen, Syria or in Afghanistan, and the role of all countries to make more efforts
to achieve solutions to all thorny issues and enhance security and stability in the region.
Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of
Pakistan said that his visit to the Sultanate and his meetings with Omani officials will
contribute to a common bilateral understanding of various issues at the regional and
international levels. He pointed out that there are many investment potentials and
opportunities available in both countries, which require that the two sides should make more
efforts to promote and develop economic and trade relations, which in turn will contribute to
raising the volume of trade exchange between the two friendly countries.
