Muscat, Col. Mubarak bin Salim al-Araimi, Director General of Operations and Training at the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA), said that the Authority has put its departments and centers at the governorates level ready and mobilized all available resources to respond and deal with emergency situations during the coming weather situation.
He added that according to official sources, the forecasts indicate that the Governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta would be affected. He added that the two governorates were supported by manpower, four-wheel drive vehicles for search and rescue operations, as well as a number of boats, water bicycles and other equipment.
He pointed out that the search and rescue sector and dealing with hazardous materials sector, which is affiliated to PACDA is closely following the developments of the situation, stressing that the coordination will harness all the available resources available with the members of National Emergency Management System.
Director General of Operations and Training at PACDA requested to everyone to be careful and follow up the successive warnings issued by the competent authorities, and not risk crossing the flooded valleys, avoid low areas and to follow instructions of PACDA to avoid loses in persons and properties.
