Muscat, On the occasion of Omani Women’s Day, the 17th of October, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, congratulated Omani women and underscored their status and their feats in all sectors as a truly effective partner in the Sultanate’s blessed renaissance.


“Women are accorded great attention by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, a factor that enabled them to perform their duties and shoulder their responsibilities. They have occupied leading positions in the State and contributed to promoting the process of development,” said Theyazin.


He added that laws and legislations guaranteed to women all their rights and that the celebration of Omani Women’s Day is an opportunity to ponder on the accomplishments of Omani women year after year, their accumulated expertise, and set forth on enhancing their participation in shaping a better tomorrow for them and for Omani society as a whole.


Sayyid Theyazin stressed that “Omani woman is a productive arm serving alongside man to realize the future vision of the Sultanate.”

He pointed out that “Woman is an important pillar in constructing the edifice of Oman and holding it upright by establishing society’s foundations on proper principles of ethical education that has ever since antiquity constituted the culture of Omani people, their thought and their tradition in dealing with their surrounding on the basis of respect for the Other.”


Sayyid Theyazin proceeded on saying, “Omani woman has had a striking presence in the domains of culture, sports and youth achievements. She received accolades as she bagged many regional and international prizes.”


He pointed out that this is a source of pride for the country and reflects the status enjoyed by women and the Royal attention accorded to them by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.


He added that, “On this occasion, we are fully committed to supporting the efforts of Omani woman to help achieve her aspirations. We will work to furnish all means and available resources to attain the desired goals, which will contribute to the realization of Oman Vision 2040.”
