Manama, A delegation from Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) took part in an international conference organized by the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Institution for Human Rights. The conference was held under the motto “Penal law and alternative measures: a qualitative experience in criminal legislation”.
With a large global turnout, the conference discussed methods of application of penalties and alternative measures, the role of competent departments tasked with the law and the nature of convict labour, among other topics.
The conference was attended by more than 300 conferees, including Trustees of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights, members of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions and representatives of national human rights institutions at the Executive Office of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions.
