Oman Participates in 2nd Sitting of Arab Parliament

Amman, The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Council of Oman, today took part in deliberations of the 2nd sitting of the 3rd legislative term of the Arab Parliament chaired by Dr. Adel Al Asoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament.

At the outset of the session, held in the Jordanian Parliament, Dr. Adel Al Asoumi affirmed that the Arab Parliament will always back the Arab issues in all international fora, particularly the Palestinian cause.

He commended the outcomes of the last GCC Summit held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He also reiterated the Arab Parliament’s support for the upcoming Arab Summit, scheduled to be held in Algeria in March 2022.

Further, the members of the Arab Parliament were briefed on the reports of the subcommittees stemming from the permanent committees.

The most significant conclusion reached by the committees’ reports laid emphasis on the importance of setting laws and visions, as well as devising guiding policies related to sustainable development, such as climate change legislation, among others.
