MUSCAT, Oman, Omani-Sino relations have been characterised by a depth and history, spanning several centuries. Chinese documents have estimated them for about 2,000 years, while Omanis were the first to reach the shores of China.

The Omani-Sino relations were always based on many common points between the Omani and Chinese civilisations, especially those related to the peace-loving spirit and human communication among peoples, and the belief in the importance of dialogue, and mutual respect.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, these relations have witnessed a significant progress towards strengthening the fields of cooperation between the two countries.

Sultan Qaboos bin Said and President Xi Jinping, President of China, decided to establish the strategic partnership, which is the culmination of the continuous development of these established relations, and push for efforts to achieve development and common prosperity.

In this context, Information Minister, Dr. Abdul Munim bin Mansour Al Hasani, will visit, today, the People’s Republic of China, to participate in the cultural media event, to be held in Beijing, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, in addition to the unveiling of the plaque of the Sohar Vessel Memorial, in the famous Chinese City of Guangzhou.
