OJA Participates in Women Journalists Seminar in Tunisia

Tunis, The Omani Journalists Association (OJA), represented by the Committee of Women Journalists, participates in the “Arab Women Journalists” seminar organized by the Arab News Agencies’ Union from April 23rd to 26th in Tunis.

This participation comes to get familiarized with the Tunisian experience in the field of women’s journalism and includes a visit to the Tunisian Journalists Syndicate and a number of media organizations.

The seminar will include sessions and discussions related to enhancing the ability of Arab women journalists to perform their work in the various media in which they work.

The sessions will be held under the title “Status of the Woman Journalist in the Arab World Today”, in which Dr. Hamida al-Bor, Director of the Institute of Journalism and News Sciences in Tunis, and Habiba al-Magri, former Editor-in-Chief of the Tunisia-Africa Agency, will speak.

The second session, entitled “Barriers Facing Arab Women Journalists in Holding Senior Positions in Journalism”. The third session entitled “Equality in Journalism”.

The fourth working session is held under the title “Proposals to Promote the Status of Women Journalists working in the Arab Media”
