Muscat, Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) held a meeting today under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdullah bin Shuwain al-Hosani, OHRC Chairman.


The meeting reviewed OHRC’s responses to international reports related to human rights in the Sultanate, in addition to its participations in virtual regional and international meetings and conferences.


The meeting also reviewed the most prominent humanitarian issues that OHRC dealt with during the current year, and the mechanism for preparing OHRC’s annual report for 2020.


The meeting discussed how the committee will participate in the celebration of the International Human Rights Day, which falls on 10 December each year. The participation will be limited to highlighting the occasion in various media outlets.


The meeting also discussed upcoming participations in meetings and conferences on human rights, proposals received from the OHRC’s sub-committees, and other topics related to human rights in the Sultanate.
