Muscat, The first Ramadhan Evening of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will kick-off tomorrow (Tuesday) under the title “The Role of the Logistics Sector and Airports in the Economic Revitalization of the Sultanate” at OCCI headquarters, under the patronage of the Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD).
The event will discuss the logistics strategy of the Sultanate, the expected role of the private sector, the reality of the logistics sector, the aspirations of the Sultanate’s global ranking, the role of the new Muscat International Airport in the economic revitalization of the Sultanate, the private sector opportunities for logistics and the share of small and medium enterprises. The Ramadhan Evening will also discuss the importance of local and international partnership in developing the logistics sector in the Sultanate.
Abdul Adhim bin Abbas al- Bahrani, CEO of OCCI, said that the Ramadhan Evening is a continuation of the approach taken by OCCI to enhance partnership between the private sector, the public sector and the society to review the most important efforts exerted to promote the economic sector, in addition to presenting the challenges and obstacles facing different sectors, and to come up with recommendations and submit to respective entities in support of the overall economic development process.
He called upon all Omani and resident businessmen and women and those interested in the economic, commercial and investment sectors to attend Ramadhan evenings and contribute to the presentation of visions that will develop the work environment in the private sector.
