An awareness walk has been launched today by Oman Cancer Association (OCA) Dhofar branch from 4.30pm to 6pm, urging people to eat healthy food and do earlier detection. The event themed ' our steps together' and attended by a large number of locals and residents. It aims to raise a level of awareness among people of cancer's threats and encouraging people to do early detection. The walk also aims to spread awareness for having proper food habits and physical activities. This symbolic walk is part of the OCA' efforts to minimize all kinds of cancers.
Salim bin Awadh Al Najar, Head of OAC in Dhofar said 'this event comes as part of the association' efforts in increasing awareness among people about different kinds of cancers and to warn people from this global growing threat, in addition urging our researchers and specialists in this field to investigate and search in the causes of increasing cancer cases in our region'.
The association is conducting several campaigns in different parts of the Sultanates including schools, colleges, universities and malls.
