Authority (NRAA) will hold a seminar on 10 December under the theme
“Musandam in the Memory of Omani History” and the 8th Documentary
Exhibition in the Governorate of Musandam at Oman Chamber of
Commerce and Industry in the Wilayat of Khasab.
The seminar will discuss the historical, cultural and
civilizational aspects of the governorates and cities of the Sultanate,
highlight the role of NRAA in preserving the national memory and
enhancing community participation. The seminar will discuss 12
working papers to be presented by professors and researchers, divided
into political and historical, geographical, economic, social and cultural
themes.
The seminar aims at introducing the historical role played by
the Governorate of Musandam through its long history and reflecting
on the history of the governorate in particular and on the Omani history
in general through reviewing and studying a collection of documents,
books, manuscripts and novels. The Governorate of Musandam has an
important part in the History of Oman. It overlooks the Strait of Hormuz,
the vital artery which is one of the most important international
waterways in the world. Musandam is also the eastern gate of the
movement of trade and navigation to and from the countries
overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
