Barka, The new fish market was opened today in the fishing port in the Wilayat of Barka, as an area was allocated for the market in the port project (Barka Marina).
The opening ceremony was held amid full adherence to the healthy procedures set by the departments concerned.
The opening included operating all facilities related to the fish market, regulating the entry of fish transport vehicles and transporting fish from boats to the (auctioning) area, as well as operating the auctioning system at the designated site.
The authorized vendors received the outlets designated for fish selling and cutting according to the regulations of fish markets issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The outlets include 72 shops for sellers, 21 others for fish cutting, and selling sites for fishermen and fish transporters; in addition to distributing tools and equipment necessary for sellers and fish cutters that come as a support from the Ministry during the initial operating phase.
