Muscat, The National Commission for Family Affairs (NCFA) held its first meeting this year under the chair of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sa’ayid al-Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, Chairman of the Commission.

The meeting reviewed the action plan implementation of the Youth and Morals Program in 2018, as well as a summary of the “Youth Forum: Values and Volunteering” held in the Governorate of Musandam.

The meeting also discussed the action plan of NCFA Technical Secretariat, 2019, which includes programs and activities that reflects NSFA roles.

Workshop Highlights Rules and Regulations of Oman Commercial Arbitration Center

Muscat, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today organized a workshop on Oman Commercial Arbitration Center.

The opening of the workshop was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Saeedi, Minister of Legal Affairs, who said that the establishment of the center is an important step in the process of modernizing the legal system in the Sultanate and a landmark that is added to the legal and judicial achievement of the state. He added that the arbitration has witnessed over the past years a great development and has become one of the most important means of settling disputes due to its advantages and specifications.

Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, OCCI Chairman delivered a speech at the beginning of the workshop as he pointed out that the workshop comes within the framework of the Chamber’s efforts to implement the Royal Decree No. 26/2018 on establishing Oman Commercial Arbitration Center.

The workshop included two working papers. The first paper tackled the work of Oman Commercial Arbitration Center. The second paper dealt with the rules of Oman Commercial Arbitration Center.

The workshop was attended by a number of experts and specialists in the field of law and commercial arbitration from inside and outside the Sultanate.
