It is noteworthy that the National Museum is the most prominent cultural edifice in the Sultanate of Oman, dedicated to highlighting the treasures of Oman’s cultural heritage, since the appearance of human traces in the Omani Peninsula before about two million years ago, and to the present day, through which we look forward to our promising future.
The National Museum was established by Royal Decree No. (2013/62), issued on 16 Muharram 1435 AH (corresponding to November 20th, 2013); thus it became the legal entity in accordance with the experiences and the international standards recognized in the classification of the well-known museums.
