Muscat, The National Museum organised a

lecture titled “Efforts to Preserve Cultural Heritage in the Syrian Arab

Republic,” presented by Nazeer Awadh, Deputy Director General of

Archeology and Museums in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The lecture included four main themes namely “Historical and

Geographical Profile of Syria,” “Damage to Syrian Archaeological

Sites,” “Damages to Syrian Museums during the Crisis” and “Protection

Measures”.

The lecture comes as part of a series of lectures hosted by the

Learning Centre at the Museum. Such lectures aim to highlight and

discuss various topics, including archelogy and history.
