Sur, Eng. Said bin Hamoud al-Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology today went on tour to the second part of the second phase of A’Sharqiyah Expressway Project, and the proposed port site for Sur Industrial City.

During the visit, al-Ma’awali was briefed on the 40 km remaining part of the project, located between the wilayats of Al Kamil and Al Wafi and Sur. He also heard from those in charge of the project about the work progress, action plan, the reasons for construction delay, and the time frame of the project.

The ministry has recently opened 206 km before the traffic, out of the total length of the project (246 km).

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology visited Sur Industrial City to view the location of the proposed port project. He was briefed by specialists from the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn on the location and components of the proposed port and its associating services. The Minister was accompanied by Hilal bin Hamad al-Hassani, CEO of Madayn
