Mikati visits Lebanese delegation to Olympic Games in France


Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his wife, Mrs. May, visited the Lebanese delegation to the Summer Olympic Games hosted by the French capital, Paris, at its headquarters in the Olympic Village this morning.

The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure with Lebanon’s participation in this major global sporting event, stressing his pride in the Lebanese players participating in the Olympics.

“I am very happy and pleased with the presence of the Lebanese in the Olympic Games, and with the participation of the Lebanese Olympic Committee in every sporting event. This is a very big work and effort. I know that it takes a lot of their time, but it stems from the essence of their belief in Lebanon,” the PM said.

Mikati added: “I am proud of the Lebanese players who represent Lebanon and I wish them from my heart to win and obtain the necessary medals.”

He continued: “We are in a difficult situation, and as the first official in the state, my goal is to preserve it and its entity. At the same time, it is the duty of t
he Olympic Committee and the players to represent Lebanon and show sportsmanship in every international meeting. God willing, we will continue to see the Lebanese flag flying everywhere.”

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Mrs. Brigitte, received Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his wife, Mrs. May, at the Elysee Palace in Paris, as part of their participation in attending the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
