Muscat, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, a number of members of the committee, the Chief of Staff of the Sultan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for operations, visited this morning a number of joint control and check points consisting of units of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

 

 

The Minister of Interior and members of the Supreme Committee were briefed on the efforts made in implementing the decisions of the complete lockdown in various governorates of the Sultanate, and banning movement at night in all governorates.

 

 

The Chairman of the Committee congratulated SAF and ROP on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha, praising the great national role they play and the estimated efforts they are making to control the spread of the Corona pandemic in the Sultanate. He urged citizens and residents to continue to abide by the complete lockdown and banning of movement decisions and cooperate with the personnel in charge of the control and check points.

 

At the end of the visit, Sayyid Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Committee, confirmed in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) and Radio and Television of the Sultanate of Oman that commitment to precautionary measures will spare the pain and sorrows of the entire community. He added that It will contribute to the cohesion of the health sector to stand in the face of this pandemic with full capacity and efficiency, in addition to enhancing the national economy, whose many of its sectors have been affected due to the conditions that resulted from this pandemic.

 

At the end of his statement, the Minister of the Interior thanked SAF, ROP and other institutions that are making exceptional efforts to implement the complete lockdown and banning of movement decisions and enforce other decisions. He also thanked health personnel, including doctors, nurses and administrators who devoted themselves and spared no effort to combat this pandemic. He pointed out that everyone’s efforts during this period will remain etched in the national memory, adding a new chapter in Oman’s glorious history.
