Man, Patterns and Colors Exhibition at National Museum

Muscat, The Man, Patterns and Colors Exhibition of

Omani artist Radika Hamlai was opened at the National Museum,

under the patronage of Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd al- Said, Assistant

Secretary General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for

Cabinet Affairs.

Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd al- Said, said that the exhibition was unique,

as the artist adopted a different way of mixing knitting and carpet

making, which resulted in an impressive artistic work approaching the

textile industries which the Sultanate is famous for a long time ago.

“We hope that this art will be of interest to other Omani artists to create

new things that belong to our heritage.”

Jamal bin Hassan al -Mousawi, Director General of the National

Museum, said in a speech at the opening ceremony that this exhibition

is part of a series of exhibitions hosted by the museum, which highlight

the contemporary and modern Omani art. He added that the museum

hosted the first exhibition in this series in 2017 in cooperation with the

Omani Society of Fine Arts, and the museum is preparing to host on

March 11th the days of the Hermitage Museum in the Russian

Federation in the Sultanate.
