MALAYSIA: CHAIR-HURLING CASE- WOMAN NABBED FOLLOWING CHEMIST REPORT

Police have detained a woman following the result of chemist report on the death of a teenage boy, who was struck by an office chair at the Seri Pantai PPR flats in Pantai Dalam here, two months ago.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said the 23-year-old suspect was questioned during the remand period but there was no confession obtained from the woman.

Bukit Aman (federal police personnel) have recorded and interrogated (her) through the Digital Voice Stress Analyser (DVSA) but the outcome of the investigation (test) was negative, he said in a statement here yesterday.

Mazlan said the woman was released on police bond under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Jalan Duta Magistrate’s Court last Friday, and that there had been no recent development in the case.

He said the investigation was still ongoing and hoped that members of the public with information on the case to tip-off the police to facilitate the probe.

In the 8.10pm incident on Jan 15, S. Sathiswaran, 15, was killed on the spot due to severe head injuries.

The police have classified the case as murder.

It was reported police had summoned 43 individuals to assist in the investigation, and the DVSA tests on five people were negative.
