Muscat, Majlis A’Shura participated in the Arab

Region Parliamentary Forum on the 2030 Agenda (Beirut), organized

by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western

Asia (ESCWA), and the United Nations Development Program

(UNDP).

During the forum, the executive position of the goals of sustainable

development 2030 was reviewed, in addition to the review of the main

key indicators after nearly four years of the start of the international

consensus on the plan of these goals.

The Forum included sessions on the role of parliaments from the

perspective of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan and an

overview of international experiences and practices in the development

of public budgets and their use as an effective tool to follow up the

implementation of the plan with its goals, objectives and sub-indicators.

The delegation participating in the parliamentary forum included Dr.

Salim bin Nasser al-Kahali, Zayed bin Khalfan al-Abri, Ahmed bin Saud

al-Ma’asheri and Musallam bin Said Masan, Director of the Economic

and Financial Committee Affairs of the General

Secretariat of Majlis A’Shura.
