Majlis AShura Office Meets

Muscat, May 13 (ONA) — Majlis A’Shura Office today held its

16th meeting of the third annual sitting (2017/2018) of the 8th term

under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal al-Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis

A’Shura.

The Majlis Office discussed a range of issues listed on the

agenda including the reply of the Chairman of Oman Environmental

Service Holding Company (Be’ah) on the question about recycling of

the construction and destruction activities in the Sultanate.

It also reviewed the reply of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-

Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications on the question

about the outputs of the work team on the integration of logistic

services for Salalah Airport and Salalah Port. The reply highlighted the

mechanisms of forming the team, the main features of the study, which

will be submitted to the Free Zone Committee. It also included the

measures taken to facilitate trade with the sisterly Yemeni Republic.

Further, the Majlis Office reviewed the letter of the Chairman of

Information Technology Authority (ITA) about the circular issued on the

security instructions for using the social networks. The letter included

the security instructions manual about the use of social networks to

protect the security of networks against breach. The Office decided to

refer the issue to the Media Department at Majlis A’Shura to take the

content of the manual into consideration.

The Office also viewed a number of parliamentary means and

tools by Majlis A’Shura members.

As for the foreign affairs, the Office reviewed a number of

circulars and letters from the international organisations including the

report of the delegation that has taken part in the 138th session of the

Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), as well as the associated meetings

during the period from 24 to 28 March 2018, the report of the

delegation that has taken part at the second meeting of the GCC

Parliamentary Committee on enhancing the relationship with the

European Union (EU) Parliament and the report on the visit to the Arab

Planning Institute (API) in the State of Kuwait during the period from 29

to 30 April 2018.
