Tehran, An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the
Richter scale hit the town of Sarpol-e Zahab in Iran’s Kermanshah
province yesterday, injuring at least 548 people.
Mehr, the Iranian News Agency, said the quake was at a depth of 7
km, 17 km from Sarpol-e Zahab city and 127 km from Kermanshah.
Residents of the eastern provinces of Azerbaijan, Western
Azerbaijan, Khuzestan and Hamadan, west of Iran, felt the quake.
