Madrid striker Mariano Diaz back to Spanish football with a late move

for the Lyon man.

Earlier this summer, the French club had insisted that the player

was not for sale, but they have now softened their position and are

willing to negotiate.

The French newspaper “L’Equipe” are reporting report that club

president Jean-Michel Aulas will ask for 40 million euros, an amount

that the Spanish MARCA newspaper has learned could indeed be

enough to seal the deal.

Sevilla have already had two previous bids for Mariano

rejected, one of 20m euros and a follow up offer of 25m euros before

the weekend.

The clubs have not spoken again since then, but a deal will

have to be completed quickly because if Lyon are to sell Mariano then

they want to do it with enough time to sign a replacement.

One name on their radar is Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, a player who

was also linked with Sevilla.

Another Sevilla target in French football, Julian Draxler of Paris

Saint-Germain (PSG), now looks set to remain in Paris, according to

his agent.

Thomas Tuchel, Manager of PSG is unlikely to call upon the

Germany international much this season, but the high price, due to the

loan fee and player’s salary, of over 10m euros has turned Sevilla off,

the Spanish MARCA newspaper reported.
